FORGOTTEN DIGGERS

The Forgotten Diggers Headstone Project aims to identify War Heroes lying in unmarked graves in N.S.W and to erect a concrete base with concrete plinth and bronze plaque at their gravesite to commemorate their service to Australia.

Generally, War Heroes that do not meet DVA criteria for official commemoration at the gravesite fall under this project. The following graves have been identified and work is in progress to have inscribed plaques installed on these generally unmarked graves, to restore their Honour and Dignity, so they are Forever Remembered.

Lest We Forget.

Installation of bases and plinths to mount plaques on each grave in Sandgate Cemetery is awaiting approval from Northern Cemeteries Trust.
In the interim, a virtual memorial has been placed on each site.
